The office is conveniently located at 8895 Centre Park Drive, Suite E, Columbia, Maryland. We are just off Route 100 providing easy access from Ellicott City, Clarksville, Elkridge, and Columbia.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care is an exciting new way of healthcare delivery. It is a patient-centered alternative to the traditional fee-for-service model where patients often feel like they are on an assembly line. In direct primary care, your doctor is motivated to keep you healthy, is not limited by insurance company restraints, or burdened with unnecessary documentation instead of focusing on you. Dr. Polgar is accessible 24/7, spends ample time to get to know you, offers individualized care, and advocates for you as you negotiate the rest of the healthcare system. All this, and much more, in exchange for an affordable monthly membership fee. No co-pays, deductibles, and no unnecessary testing. Our prices are completely transparent, there are no hidden costs.
We offer a complimentary no-obligation meet & greet with Dr. Polgar.
Uninsured? Cannot afford health insurance? Not a problem. In exchange for our affordable monthly membership fee, you get excellent acute and preventive care and management of chronic conditions. Through our affiliation with a reputable local laboratory, we can also perform laboratory testing at an incredibly low price. While, it would be more optimal to combine your membership with a low cost (“catastrophic”) insurance plan to use for specialists and hospitals, with the direct care membership you get physicals, office visits, flu shots, EKGs, etc. covered. We will also help negotiate lower prices with radiologists and find affordable medications.
Message From the Office
Please get your flu shots now! Pharmacies in the area should be well-stocked. This year it is even more important than ever to get the flu shot. You could get the flu and COVID-19 at the same time making it harder the recover. Also, let’s save our precious healthcare resources for people with COVID-19. It is recommended for people over 65 to get the high-dose vaccine, however, any flu shot is better than none, please do not wait if the high-dose is not available. It takes about 2 weeks to develop immunity once you get the shot and flu season usually starts in November.
IMPORTANT! In case you have fever and/or cough, please call us before you come to the office so we can ask a few screening questions and appropriately triage you. When you come to the office, please wear a mask and use the hand sanitizer placed right at the door.
Tips on preventing respiratory illnesses like the flu and the COVID-19 caused by the novel coronavirus:
– Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.– If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. – Avoid close contact with people who are sick.– Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.– Stay home when you are sick.– Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.– Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.– CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases.
We are now partnering with SederaHealth: an affordable alternative to insurance! Use your Direct Primary Care membership with us for your routine medical care (e.g. physicals, sick visits, medication refills, flu shots, EKGs), and your Medical Cost Sharing (Sedera) membership for the ‘big stuff’ (like surgeries, ER visits, hospitalizations, MRIs, etc.). Both new and our existing patients can take advantage of this partnership. Let us know if you are interested, and we can initiate the process for you. As always, we’d love to see prospective patients for a meet&greet and explain how our and the medical cost sharing membership works. Visit www.sedera.com/dpc , or give us a call at 443-864-5503 with questions.
